MA BA MBACP FinsLM LAPHP CNHC
I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor, which means that I prefer to use different models of counselling in my work, mostly Person-centred, TA, CBT approaches as well Bereavement or Loss & Grief Counselling. I am also a Child Counsellor. In addition, I am a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist/Hypnoanalyst and a Life/Executive Coach.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy); a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management; a Licentiate Member of the APHP (Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy); and a Member of the CNHC (The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council).
My training and experiences in Counselling, Hypnotherapy and Coaching have led me to believe that a really effective psychotherapeutic approach needs to take into account the person as a whole and not just by focusing on isolated issues. Successful counselling, coaching and to an extent hypnotherapy is about helping people understand themselves better, sorting out what is holding them back and ascertaining ways to move forward with confidence, whilst at the same time removing any barriers to progress. It is about helping individuals explore areas of their life which they may not have explored previously. This will then give them the courage to achieve their goals and ambitions, or to find inner peace enabling them to get on with their life and come to terms with their issues.
My practical and powerful strategies enable me to deepen my clients' awareness of their unique strengths as a basis for improvement, helping them gain personal insights into their individual power by eliminating fear, worry and unnecessary stress. I then lead my clients through a process of setting realistic goals and demonstrating how these goals can be achieved in a common sense and realistic way.
